Thomas A. Nassif

Thomas A. Nassif served as the US Ambassador to Morocco from 1985-1988. He had been Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern and South Asian Affairs. His responsibilities included North African Affairs and Congressional and Public Affairs within the Bureau. Ambassador Nassif had served as Deputy Chief and Acting Chief of Protocol. He was a partner in the San Diego-based law firm of Gray, Cary, Ames and Frye, specializing in management-labor relations and agriculture.

Born in Iowa, Mr. Nassif received a B.S. degree in Business Administration from California State University at Los Angeles in 1965, a J.D. degree at California Western University School of Law in San Diego in 1968, and an Honorary Doctorate of Law from California Western University in 1988. He is a member of the California State Bar Association, San Diego Bar Association and a former member of the Republican State Central Committee of California. Mr. Nassif served in the United States Army. He is married and has two children. Presently, he is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Western Growers Association.
