Event: Ambassadors Roundtables

Ambassadors Roundtable with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates

The Council of American Ambassadors held its third Ambassadors Roundtable of 2012 on Tuesday, October 23 in the Anderson Room of The Metropolitan Club of Washington, DC. Twenty-two former U.S. Ambassadors were in attendance, making the October 23 event one of the best attended Roundtables since the program was inaugurated in 2010.

The Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Yousef Al Otaiba, was the guest speaker at the October 23 event. Ambassador Lloyd N. Hand, co-chair of the Ambassadors Roundtable program, welcomed attendees to the program and introduced Ambassador Al Otaiba. Given ongoing developments in the Middle East and North Africa, it was particularly timely to have with us the United Arab Emirates’ chief diplomat in the United States. Ambassador Gilbert A. Robinson, co-chair of the Ambassadors Roundtable program, led a vigorous question and answer session covering a range of issues, and Ambassador Timothy A. Chorba, President of the Council of American Ambassadors, asked the last question and made concluding remarks.
