   AMBASSADOR CHARLES T. MANATT ELECTED PRESIDENT

Ambassador Charles T. Manatt has been elected President of the Council of American Ambassadors (CAA).

Ambassador Manatt is the founder of the law firm, Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP. He began his legal career in the area of banking and financial services. His practice now focuses on international, administrative and corporate law.

The United States Ambassador to the Dominican Republic from 1999 to 2001, Ambassador Manatt is the former President of the California Bankers Association, former Chairman of the California Democratic party and former Chairman of the Democratic party of the United States.

   CAA FELLOWS - CLASS OF 2010

The Council extends congratulations to our Ambassadors Walter and Leonore Annenberg Fellows for 2010:

   DAVIS PUBLIC DIPLOMACY FELLOWSHIP

The Council is pleased to announce that Ms. Michelle Lee has been selected as the Council''s 2010-2011 Davis Public Diplomacy Fellow. Previously, Ms. Lee worked on public diplomacy programs and public affairs for Central America and Cuba, was a Political Officer in Berlin, Germany, and a Political and Consular Officer in Accra, Ghana. She is now a Public Diplomacy Officer and in summer 2010, Ms. Lee will join the State Department''s Bureau of Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs as a policy planning officer.

The Davis Public Diplomacy Fellowship program combines on-the-job training with academic study and mentoring by former U.S. ambassadors, public diplomacy officers and communications executives. Its purpose is to enhance the conduct and practice of U.S. public diplomacy through the provision of specialized training and mentoring opportunities for mid-career officers.
