AMBASSADOR CHARLES T. MANATT ELECTED PRESIDENT |
Ambassador Charles T. Manatt has been elected President of the Council of American Ambassadors (CAA).
Ambassador Manatt is the founder of the law firm, Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP. He began his legal career in the area of banking and financial services. His practice now focuses on international, administrative and corporate law.
The United States Ambassador to the Dominican Republic from 1999 to 2001, Ambassador Manatt is the former President of the California Bankers Association, former Chairman of the California Democratic party and former Chairman of the Democratic party of the United States.

2010 CAA FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM |
The Council of American Ambassadors is pleased to announce that for the seventh year in a row, we will offer our Fellowship program to outstanding undergraduates who will have completed their junior year by the start of the 2010 Fellowship program. As part of the program, six individuals, known as the "Ambassadors Walter and Leonore Annenberg Fellows," will receive mentoring by former U.S. ambassadors, who are members of the Council, an internship at the Department of State and academic training at Georgetown University. Only individuals who have been accepted by the State Department as Washington, DC-based summer 2010 interns are eligible to apply.

DAVIS PUBLIC DIPLOMACY FELLOWSHIP |
The Council is pleased to announce that Ms. Jinnie Lee has been selected as the Council''s 2009-2010 Davis Public Diplomacy Fellow. Ms. Lee most recently served as Deputy Cultural Affairs Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. She is now assigned to the Office of the Coordinator for Reconstruction and Stabilization at the Department of state.
The Davis Public Diplomacy Fellowship program combines on-the-job training with academic study and mentoring by former U.S. ambassadors, public diplomacy officers and communications executives. Its purpose is to enhance the conduct and practice of U.S. public diplomacy through the provision of specialized training and mentoring opportunities for mid-career officers.
